Through its work both in the U.S. and in Uganda, African Baobab is committed to stand witness with the strength and endurance of the Baobab tree to the needs and hopes of the families another continent away. We can all be empowered together as we support life on the other side of the world.

Seeing for ourselves the plight of the families in the village moves African Baobab to action. We quickly realize what an insulated and comfortable life we have here in the suburbs. How very easy an average day is for us. Never do we have to stop and think how to get food on the table for our children when there is no money and no crop in our gardens. Never do we have to care for a critically ill relative without a doctor and medication. Never do our children have to walk 3 miles in the early morning to get water for drinking and washing.

We have no idea how hard life can be, no idea what it means to live in a third world country, no idea what freedom we have living in the United States.
